Thank You for Rising #RIPMayaAngelou

“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” ― Maya Angelou

LDrAngelouike you, the news hit me like a rock. As the Amazing Dr. Maya Angelou made her final ascension, I was sitting at my computer preparing to continue the pursuit of my life fulfillment.   The newscaster behind me reported in breaking news that this Queen had taken leave of her mortal body.  Of course not in those words, but that is what I heard.

Her spirit, the true essence of herself was now gone.  The last words with which she blessed the world – would be her last new words of inspiration. Her life story, her wisdom, and her unique God given way of feeding life to the world will live on FOREVER.

I couldn’t believe how quickly my spirit broke to tears. Someone who had passed a light to me is now a part of eternal LIGHT.  My tears were for the child that suffered pain, for the celebration of a woman that learned her purpose, and for the teacher that gave all the wisdom she could.  In my thirst for PURE WISDOM, I tremble a little knowing that well is now dry.  She touched my life, but more importantly her gifts blessed and nourished my soul.  She was knocked down by abuse, racism, sexism, hatred, family and so called friends….but she chose to RISE. Time and time again, she rose to the challenge of life, not blaming what happened for defeat…but instead using her trials like iron sharpen iron.  She ROSE above all and became more than anyone would have assumed when she was the child in pain. Just think how many would not have been touched and nourished, had she chosen not to RISE.MA Post

In her last breathe – The World Mourned. No one could have done a better job of using the gifts given them by the Father of all.  My I honor you, my ancestor- mentor – teacher, but following your example in the use of my gifts.  May we all Show Respect for your giving by living in your example.
